These Terms are an agreement between you and the developer of Taperist ("we", "us"). By downloading, installing or using Taperist, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Taperist is a behavioural and educational support tool. It is not a medical device, it does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it is not a substitute for professional care. Nothing in the app should be read as a recommendation about your medication — including whether to start, continue, reduce or stop it. Those decisions belong to you and your prescriber. If you have stopped medication and are experiencing severe or worsening symptoms, contact a healthcare professional promptly.
Taperist provides a structured twelve-week behavioural protocol for the period after reducing or stopping GLP-1 medication, together with an estimated risk profile, weekly actions and progress tracking. The content is educational and behavioural in nature. It is based on published research and general principles of nutrition, resistance training and habit formation; it is not personalised medical guidance.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract to use Taperist. By using the app you confirm that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide in your entry profile is accurate to the best of your knowledge. The risk estimate is only as meaningful as the inputs.
Some parts of Taperist require a paid subscription. The following terms apply to every subscription purchased through the Apple App Store:
Refunds are handled exclusively by Apple. Requests can be made at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds on Apple's behalf.
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Usage Rules.
Where you obtained the app from the Apple App Store, the following also applies, and you acknowledge and agree to it:
You keep ownership of everything you enter — your profile, your check-ins, your notes. You grant us only the limited licence needed to store it and show it back to you, and to compute your progress and risk estimate. How we handle that data is described in the Privacy Policy.
You agree not to: copy, resell, sublicense or redistribute the protocol or any part of the content; reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code; use the app to provide medical or therapeutic services to others; upload unlawful content; interfere with the security or operation of the service; or use automated means to scrape content.
The app, its text, its protocol, its visual design and the Taperist name and logo are owned by us and protected by copyright and trademark law. Nothing in these Terms transfers any of that to you. Published research cited inside the app remains the property of its respective authors and publishers.
We aim to keep the app available and correct, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, add or remove features, and we may discontinue the service. If we discontinue a paid service, we will give reasonable notice and, where required by law, a pro-rata refund of the unused period.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app and its content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant any particular health, weight or behavioural outcome. Individual results vary, and the risk estimate shown in the app is a statistical projection based on published research and the answers you provide — not a prediction about you.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the app will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) USD 50. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud. If you are a consumer in the EU, UK, Australia or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protections, those protections apply in full and override anything in this section that conflicts with them.
You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms. Sections 6, 8, 10 and 12 survive termination.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. Before starting any formal proceeding, please write to support@taperist.com — nearly every issue is resolved there. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within 60 days, it may be brought before the competent court at the developer's place of residence. Nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence, or of the right to bring a claim in your local courts where that right cannot be waived.
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect, and the date at the top of this page will change. If you continue using Taperist after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.
